Funk & Soul Of The 1970's - A Concert to Support Diabetes Research Institute
 

We were first introduced to The Diabetes Research Institute (DRI) shortly after our son, Aaron, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). In 2017, we created Night Out For A Cure as a fundraiser to include all of our favorite things- music, dancing, drinks, food, family and friends while bringing awareness and raising money for T1D. 100% of the proceeds from the Night out for the Cure go to the DRI, whose sole purpose is to find a cure for T1D. Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune disease that strikes without warning. Aaron, and the millions of others like him living with T1D, did nothing to cause it. They check their blood sugar multiple times a day, they administer insulin every time they eat, and generally have to think about their disease throughout their day, every day, every night. No breaks, no vacations. There is no cure for T1D....yet. We have been working with the DRI for many years now and truly believe they will be the ones to find a cure and end T1D once and for all. 

Join Band Central for a concert featuring songs from the most popular artists of the 1970's including Earth Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, James Brown, Chic, Bob Marley, The Grateful Dead and more! The show features Gabrielle Lakshmi, Anthony David, Cyrus Madan, Rob Somerville, Rob Volo, Eric Kalb, Marcos Torres Jr. and Rob Fried, who have performed in bands such as Deep Banana Blackout, Kung Fu, What Up Funk, The Telle and Bone Dry.
